Scrambled Spots

Scrambled Spots

In the days of black and white film photography, dust on the negative would become white spots on the finished print. The photographer would then take a spotting brush and some India ink, diluted, and touch up the white spots. First there were fairly obvious spots that anyone would notice. when those were darkened, smaller spots would become more evident and they would be darkened. Then yet smaller ones would appear where they were previously not seen. The fastidious spotter would never be able to finish the job because as soon as one level of brightness was reduced, another would become noticeable. This also happens in any efforts I make to learn something. The more I learn, the better I am able to perceive what still needs to be learned.
